Lead Native App Developer

Auckland
Hybrid

We're looking for a Lead Native App Developer to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering a world-class mobile application. Our team values craft, quality, and pace — and we're committed to building technology that creates real value for the people who use it.

In this role, you'll bring deep native iOS and/or Android expertise into a supportive environment where clear thinking, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement are part of everyday work. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills, shape how we work, and make a meaningful impact on the products we build.

We offer a hybrid in-studio/WFH model that supports flexibility and balance, alongside ongoing personal and professional development.

What You'll Do

  • Lead native mobile development across the full app lifecycle, from planning through to delivery and maintenance.

  • Define, scope, and communicate the work needed to implement solutions — including feasibility and delivery impact.

  • Estimate accurately, report progress clearly, and deliver consistently to deadlines.

  • Write high-quality code that is performant, reliable, and maintainable.

  • Partner with Experience Design to bring high-fidelity, platform-appropriate UI to life.

  • Integrate with external systems and APIs, and optimise app and tooling performance.

  • Debug confidently, articulate app flow to teammates, and triage and resolve defects.

  • Contribute to team-wide continuous improvement and share knowledge openly.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience building native mobile apps using Swift and/or Kotlin.

  • Strong understanding of common frameworks, libraries, and design patterns, with solid iOS and/or Android SDK knowledge.

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs, multi-threading, and writing unit-tested, testable code.

  • Comfort with DevOps practices, continuous delivery pipelines, and agile ways of working.

  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality iOS and/or Android applications to production.

Culture

We believe the best work happens when people feel welcome, respected, and able to be themselves. We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. We consider all candidates without regard to any particular characteristic, and we're dedicated to fostering a culture where everyone has the same opportunities to thrive and grow.
